Foley has adapted very well to life in the mountains, after being a city dog most of her (post-racing) life. She enjoys chasing chipmunks and she finds mule deer very interesting. Her turn-ons are cheese, meat, and snuggles. Turn-offs are carrots, thunderstorms, and being left at home.

How are you dealing with the dogs in the wilderness? Do you have a portion of the yard fenced, or can you trust them off-leash? How about the bears you've spotted - that would scare the crap out of me (worrying about my pets)?
ReplyDeleteThere is a fenced yard. We do NOT trust them off-leash! And we're not so much worried about the bears as the mountain lions. We supervise when the dogs are out at dusk/after dark, and just kind of hope the cats aren't nearby. We haven't seen any but others in the canyon have lost goats to them recently.
